Handover of hydrogen car
Bolzano, 29. August 2014
Thanks to the European HyFIVE project, ten Hyundai ix35 fuel cell vehicles are also available in South Tyrol at the Institute of Innovative Technologies, which were handed over to the first customers on Friday, 29 August 2014. Innovative, future-oriented and sustainable – all ways to describe the “early adopters”, the first South Tyrolean companies and private individuals to thoroughly test out these fuel cell cars in daily use. They are thus among the first users of fuel cell vehicles in Europe and thus play an important role as “ambassadors” for this emission-free power technology. Emission-free driving does not however mean losing out: fuel cell vehicles are up to all the usual standards in terms of equipment, safety, performance and comfort. Quite a few of the customers became convinced of the benefits during test drives in recent months, having registered an interest some time beforehand. Others will on Friday for the first time have the happy feeling of producing only water vapour from their cars. Business customers have also willingly taken up the chance to personalize their vehicles with their logo and thus use them as a powerful marketing tool. South Tyrol’s objective is “zero emissions” and the Province is supporting this aim.
